Possible side effects of Relvar Ellipta

This page is specifically for patients who have been prescribed Relvar Ellipta. If you are not a patient please return to the public website.

Like all medicines, Relvar Ellipta can cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them.

If your breathing or wheezing gets worse straight after using Relvar Ellipta, stop using it and seek medical help immediately.

Tell your doctor if you experience fever or chills, cough up more phlegm, your phlegm changes colour or you start coughing more than usual or have breathing difficulties.

Very Common Side Effects – may affect more than 1 in 10 people 1
Headache Common Cold
Common Side Effects – may affect up to 1 in 10 people 1
Cough, fever, and/or difficulty breathing due to lung infection (Pneumonia) Infection of the nose, sinuses or throat (Upper respiratory tract infection)
Inflammation of the lungs (Bronchitis) Flu (influenza)
Sore, raised patches in the mouth or throat caused by a fungal infection (Candidiasis)
Rinsing your mouth out with water immediately after using Relvar Ellipta may help stop this side effect developing
Pain and irritation in the back of the mouth and throat (Oropharyngeal pain)
Inflammation of the sinuses (Sinusitis) Sore throat
Itchy, runny or blocked nose Cough
Voice disorders Stomach pain
Fever Joint pain
Back pain Weakening of the bones
Muscle Spasms
Uncommon Side Effects- may affect up to 1 in 100 people 1
Irregular heartbeat (Extrasystoles)
Blurred vision
Increase in Blood Sugar
Rare Side Effects – may affect up to 1 in 1000 people 1
Awareness of heartbeat Heart beating faster
Hypersensitivity reactions including skin rashes or redness, swelling (angioedema), Becoming very wheezy, coughing, having difficulty breathing, suddenly feeling weak or light-headed (may lead to collapse, loss of consciousness), anxiety, tremor
